Printing Notice – Effective January 3rd 2006

For the past several semesters the computing labs have experienced large amounts of printing that would remain uncollected.  This was evidenced by the fact that the recycle bins were filled several times a week.  A solution was needed to eliminate this waste of resources.  To this end, beginning Spring 2006, we will pilot a new approach to printing in the labs.

Six printing stations, numbered ASM1001-02 to ASM 1001-07, located on the south wall of ASM 1001 next to the Dell printers, will be dedicated for printing only.  Printing may be performed by transferring the materials to any of the printing stations using:

SSH Secure File Transfer (uploading and downloading files to your UNM-NetID account),

        A USB memory stick or,

        UNM E-mail.

These stations cannot access internet resources outside of UNM.

If you have any difficulties with printing, please contact the lab consultant on duty.

We appreciate your efforts in making this a successful pilot.
